DRYPOINT Printmaking workshops
One day drypoint metal plate engraving workshop - various dates
Join me at one of my printmaking workshops at my studio in Derbyshire, near Chesterfield, where we will be exploring the technique of drypoint engraving, using an aluminium plate and print press. The day will start with an inroduction to the medium with examples of prints and the original plates, then after a coffee break we get started!
Students will learn the method and how to produce a variety of tones and marks, making the most of the subtle nature of drypoint. So we can share materials and ideas effectively, classes are limited to around six people. Classes are fun and relaxed and at the end of each day you will have a series of images to take home for framing or making into greetings cards etc.
The day costs just £80 and includes all materials, plus refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits).
Materials not included which you will need to bring:
Please bring a packed lunch, also an apron or old shirt, your reading glasses if you need them (the marks you make can be very detailed) and finally an idea for what you would like to print, something quite simple works the best. If you don't have a particular idea I can suggest something which would work well.
